Here is an update on Josiah as of Friday, December 24th at 2:15 PM.

After I posted the update for yesterday we got another visit from the doctor that is looking at Josiah’s nerve condition on the right side of his face.  They had a specialist look at the films, and as of now, the specialist does not feel there is a need to rush in to surgery for …him.  That does not mean he will not have to have it, just not real soon.  In fact, they want him to take a trip to Ann Arbor so the specialist there can look at it closer.  That may happen the week after next.

Here are some highlights of the day:

  • I stayed in the hotel with the girls last night, so I missed his first couple of sessions, but as I walked in he was up and walking with a therapist and his cane.  He said he was feeling very strong.  His attitude is very good as well.  The kid just keeps pushing on.
  • There was a Christmas party on the floor for lunch today with Santa and Mrs. Claus, great food, and presents for all the kids. I am not sure how it is funded, but they treat the kids VERY good up here as they spoil them with gifts.  Each family is here with their children.  They all have a story.  A story of what brings them here and the story that God is writing in their lives.  Both stories intersect, and God has a plan for each family.
  • After Josiah finishes his therapy sessions today we get to take him out until 8 PM on Saturday evening.  He will stay with us tonight at the hotel and enjoy his siblings as we open gifts.  He will also get to see his niece for the first time tomorrow!
  • We got to take him to Best Buy last night.  He enjoyed his visit out and did great in the car ride.

Here are some things to remember as you pray for Josiah and the family:

  • Pray for Jordan, Daniel and Mady as they travel here.  They will leave this evening and arrive some time tomorrow.
  • Pray for Josiah as he leaves the hospital for a night out.  Pray that he remains calm and has a great nights rest.
  • Continue to pray for his left arm and leg as his strength increases.  He is doing very well!
  • Also, continue to pray that we have the opportunity to speak into the lives of the people that are up here.  We want to show Christ to them, and help them to see that they matter to God.

Philippians 1:12 “Now I want you to know, brothers and sisters,t that what has happened to me has actually served to advance the gospel.”

  1. Merry Christmas Petermann Family! I thought after our daughter grew up & moved out that we could sleep in on Christmas morning..not so. We have 3 miniture weenie dogs & they all decided that 5:15am was a great time to bark, run around & squeek their toys…SO..here I sit, with coffee~ Starbucks of course!, tossing dog toys & reading about the current Christmas miracle that is Josiah. Im so happy you are all together and Josiah is doing so well. Our prayers continue for your family..may peace, love & joy surround your family and Gods love continue to bless you with miracles!
