Ron, I am not so sure that we do not agree totally. Community to me is huge (vital) in the growth of a believer. What I am referring to is the individual who is dependent on Sunday to get totally fed for the week and take no responsibility for their own daily feeding. It is the churches responsibility to provide opportunities for people's next steps, but it is up to them to take those steps. That is the difference between being responsible to and responsible for people. A church is responsible to its attenders not for them.

I need to disagree with point 1 a bit. Church is for the edification of believers, and thus its not just an individualistic effort. Growth often occurs through community, whether it be fellowship, challenge, or encouragement. Sure, an individual can seek out the meat, and do quite well... but if the church is not providing it, not only are individuals missing out, but also the church as a whole.

I agree with this. I had a moment last week, but sometimes things boil up and cause frustration. I had to pray about it and all was better spiritually, but I know things will work themselves out. Sometimes we don't see all the inner-workings. I wish everyone had the passion I had for the music ministry. If everyone would grab hold of what they are passionate about and put in 100%, God would bless Glenville enormously. We need to keep working on being at the cutting edge and get out of the comfort zone. My challenge to those that read this blog is to be a leader and when you help in a cause at church, make sure to leave it better than it was before you started. Heck, make is 100 times better......
